We know that obstacles can prevent you from reaching your goals, and some goals can be reached with just a little support! We believe that all individuals have the potential to bolster their skills and overcome obstacles to achieve their goals of continued education. Through higher education, comes greater ability to earn skilled employment.

RISE is a workforce development program that focuses on an individual’s strengths, creating an opportunity to obtain technical training while accessing additional supports. We will help you every step of the way. From enrolling in classes, to being sure you’re able to focus on your education, so that you can earn steady employment. Participants will work alongside a career coach to identify ways to decrease barriers to ensure academic success and job placement. Earn the credential to obtain an in-demand career, and be in-demand for the employment and the over 7,000 open positions for skilled workers in our region.

McGowan Charitable Fund, administered by Johnson College, Luzerne County Community College,and United Neighborhood Centers of Northeast Pennsylvania, and evaluated by The Institute.
